10 Easy Ways To Make Your Customers Give You Their E-Mail Address

15 Killer Ways To Explode Your E-Mail Marketing
Creative Commons License photo credit: larskflem

Once upon a time, there was a woman named Sherry who owned a consulting business, specializing in freelance marketing, copy-writing and advertising consulting.

Sound familiar? :)

Sherry started her website and traffic was flowing nicely. Her blog had goobs of great content, that people would share with other interested people around the web, making Sherry a go-to girl for marketing advice, tips and of course, repeat business that filled up her bank account.

What’s her secret?

Well, Sherry had a simple strategy. It’s called GAVITMM or

Giving Away Valuable Information To Make Money!

Awesome acronym right? C’mon, you could do worse! Anyway, Sherry knew that her customers would respond like wild-fire if she drilled down and really fought to understand what THEY wanted.

Here are some of Sherry’s tips for e-mail marketing, the most cost-effective marketing ever!

1. Use a service like Aweber or ConstantContact to start your e-mail marketing. It’s easier to start something right off the bat then to just say,”Oh, it’s too hard. Forget it.”

SO many people do this- just start using Aweber or Constant Contact now to get the hang of it.

Tip: You can try out the Aweber demo. It’s awesome and the tool that I use to manage all my lists

Capture Hidden Profits with Unlimited Autoresponders

AWeber’s automated unlimited autoresponder follow up increases sales, lowers costs,
builds lasting customer relationships, and increases your
profits!

Find out how with Unlimited Autoresponders.

2. Start using your Aweber email form to grab subscribers. For headline tips and copywriting strategies that are killer, you can look here for writing headlines that sell like crazy. Pack a benefit-laden headline into your e-mail newsletter box, and start grabbing subscribers.

3. Grab Subscribes with your free report on (your industry here) Ex: “Five Hidden Ways To Instantly Start Slashing Your Credit Card Debt”. Get more headline-writing ideas over here

4. Armed with your free report or e-zine ( e-zine is a newsletter in internet marketing terms) you can start to draw in your readers. Tip: Use your e-mails to drive traffic back to your website for a discussion about your post of the day or topic of the week.

Clayton Makepeace of Makepeace Total Package does a roundup, A Week In Review, he calls it.
I recommend you do the same.

5. Don’t like to do a e-zine or e-mail blast? You could set up a video blog or podcast that you shoot to iTunes and through your RSS feed. If you want to learn more about how to do that, look here

6. Give them access to a multi-step system. Instead of calling it a free report, call it a System, Blueprint, or Strategy. EX: The Hedge-Fund Strategy That Works In 3 Weeks.

* Give them a pdf PACKED with awesome tips on how to succeed in Hedge Funds in their market.

* Wrap that into a podcast and maybe interview an expert ( look up hedge fund blogs or sites and contact the owners. They will fall all over themselves for the extra exposure, trust me).

* Take the podcast and e-book and spread the content out over two weeks. You can even break up the podcast into different sections and post them to iTunes and other directories.

* Last, take the content from the pdf and podcasts, and turn it into a video presentation using Traffic Geyser. Then, blast it out over the Internet and keep a close eye on Google to see your work show up!

7. Give the content away for free and then have EXTRA content that you can charge for on the Thank You page you set up in Aweber. This is called an Up-Sell. Kind of like “would you like fries with that?” at McDonalds. Give them free, awesome content and then sell them on the great stuff. Do this at the Thank You page AND after they have gotten your two week course.

P.S- Let me know how these tips are helping you, and if they are not, then let’s talk about what we can do to get your business going into hyper-drive.

If you need help with these tips, you can hire me for consulting services. Have a great day!

How To Divide Your Readers Into Different Campaigns For Even MORE Sales

by lawton chiles on July 30, 2008

Please let me know in the comments what you think about dividing your sales message for each audience that finds your products. After all, each person is different, the same shoe don’t fit all!

Thanks,

Lawton

DIVIDE & CONQUER

  • How to jostle your way into hotly competitive, seemingly impenetrable traffic sources …
  • How tackling a market “in detail” explodes your traffic and fattens your bottom line …
  • Some fun examples to inspire your thinking …
  • Plus more!

Dear Web Business-Builder,

Civilization is the result of abject terror.

Imagine our primordial forefathers and foremothers cowering in the shadows of the hostile environment of our early world.

Without the advantages of fangs, claws, fur, and sheer brute strength enjoyed by the saber-toothed tigers, mastodon and woolly mammoths who shared the planet, we must have felt utterly defenseless, exposed, and alone.

Doubtless we would have perished from the face of this Earth as a species had it not been for our remarkable ability to form groups and unite against the common enemies that surrounded us on all sides.

Only by banding together were we able to successfully defend against attack … hunt successfully … and leverage the great human invention — the division of labor.

Eventually, organized groupings of human beings came to dominate the world. And God said it was good.

There was just one problem …

Having become such a dominant force in the world, our natural enemies became scarce. And since humans need a steady supply, rival groups formed and began to rape and pillage one another.

Funny thing is, it wasn’t always the largest group who did the lion’s share of the raping and pillaging.

Very early in the history of warfare, shrewd military and political strategists understood the power of “divide et impera” — divide and conquer.

They discovered that by forcing the enemy to divide its forces and then dealing with those forces “in detail,” a small highly organized group could defeat a much larger one.

And so it is today, on the battlefield of traffic and conversion …

Yet few online marketers understand or appreciate this.

They send a single, solitary campaign out in to the marketing melee — attacking the tidal wave of traffic head on — full frontal. And then they wonder why it’s so darn hard to make a buck.

What should they be doing?

They should be employing the age old strategy of divide et impera, dividing the available pool of traffic into manageable chunks, and then writing customized sales copy to penetrate each one of those chunks individually.

An easy way to create momentum in your copy:
Faster than a speeding (you know the rest) …

In case you’re not sure what I’m blabbering about, here’s how I define a bullet:

“A mini headline followed by strong supporting sentence aimed to tease and entice your prospect.”

Bullets help you create momentum in your copy. And since most people scan instead of read - bullets can help you quickly drive home the points you want your prospect to remember.
