The Value Of Free Blogging

by lawton chiles on April 22, 2008

Chances are, if you have a company, a start up, a marketing firm, or other type of creative venture, chances are you have heard of blogging. Heck, you might even have a blog of your own.

But are you using it in a way that sparks curiosity, trust, and sales?

Here are a few ways to use your blog to attract higher-paying clients like a bee to honey.

1. Market to your audience

Know who you want to reach. Understand what they want. Do a Google search for forums related to your target market-find what they are passionate about, what are their frustrations and desires? What kind you fix that they are complaining about day after day? Write posts with concrete, specific solutions to their problems-and then up-sell them on your services.

2. Give away something immensely valuable.

A free ebook, report, audio mp3 with interview, something that you can give away to build your list of opt-in subscribers with. Go with something to build your opt-in list with, Aweber or constantcontact.com

3. Go with Blogger & Wordpress.com

Start with blogger.com and then start another free blog on wordpress.com. Put relevant headlines and titles in your blog posts so people can find you and read what you are talking about- use blogs to drive traffic to your pages where you sell yourself. Write a killer About Me page. Why should we care? Make us.

Yours in higher profits,

Lawton

P.S- need some help on finding out what your audience is searching for?
