In the age of YouTube, blog comments, the digital give and take, most companies are marketing their products on a plain idiotic level.

The messaging is “Buy From Me-I’m Different”.

But, they never really get around to getting their readers, TV watchers, and billboard cruisers to actually be engaged, to feel important and useful.

Here’s my 2 cents on what can be fixed and what must be fixed in your marketing if you don’t want to end up a distant memory.

Actually it’s not HD here. But if you click the HD button the right of the video player, it will take you to Vimeo where you can view it in HD.

This is cool though right? I only watched a little but it was fantastic.

OK, What’s The Difference In Each Camera?

Unlike the Mino, you can choose your record options:

  • Shoot HD @ 30 FPS or Frames Per Second
  • Shoot HD @ 60 FPS or Frame Per Second
  • The Z16 lets you zoom in to about an inch from your subject without blurring.

    More Facts About The Cameras…

Flip Mino HD vs Kodak Zi6 from Fork You on Vimeo.

  • The Mino HD uses a installed battery unlike the Z16, which uses 2 AA batteries.
  • The software for the Mino HD is Mac/PC. The editing software for the Z16 is PC ONLY.
  • But, I think that you can import the .avi to .mov and edit in in Final Cut Express or IMovie. Ah, yes, the video above confirms that iMovie does work with
    the Z16, I believe.

I like the bigger screen, and, as you can see, the quality is indeed better on the Kodak. At least to me it is. What do you think? Am I wrong?

Update:

According to the Macword video above, with iMovie HD or iMovie ‘08, you do not have to convert the files, which you would have to do using the MinoHD. The Z16 already uses H.264 codec.

The Bad:

Shaking with both cameras does not produce great results, and neither does shooting in relively low light. The MinoHD does not have a removable memory card while the Z16 does. These are things to consider. The Flip Mino HD is smaller but it seems the Z16 is higher quality.

Do you have the cameras? What do you think?
